Portland, Ore. – Biokleen is proud to announce that Mel Lavamaki will head up its sales division as the new Director of Sales. He will pursue nationwide accounts, as well as oversee regional sales, continuing to grow the company’s presence in natural food stores and co-ops, as well as in conventional supermarkets.
Joining Biokleen in 2008 as Western Regional Sales Manager, Lavamaki has 25 years experience in natural and retail product sales. Previous to Biokleen, he held the position of National Sales Manager for Veggieland™, a Parsippany, N.J.-based processor of fine vegetarian foods. While at Veggieland, he managed a nationwide team of brokers and gourmet and retail chain accounts throughout the U.S. and Canada, working as a product introduction consultant on the side. His broad background also includes management of nationwide retail and foodservice accounts for Gardenburger®, The Stash Tea Company and Hain Pure Food Co.
